Good Morning Tree Co. and Oak Wilt
May 10, 2007 by Meredith.
I hope this forum can be a resource for information on tree trimming. Recently, several of my Live Oak trees were trimmed by a company that advertises in the neighborhood. These hung over my neighbors yard and so were being pruned by the company they hired. I understand that this is appropriate but my concern was with the timing (the worst time of year to trim oaks) and that if the work had to be done on my trees, that it be done correctly. I was also concerned when I did not see any evidence of equipment sterilization on site. The company assured me that everything would be fine and my trees would be properly sealed. I discovered the following week that this was not the case and that several of my Live Oak trees had been pruned and NOT sealed. They had been left susceptible to the spread of Oak Wilt.
I have not received any responses to messages left with the company, Good Morning Tree.
Good Morning Tree Co. was given a citation for violating our city ordinance on Oak Wilt. However, they were allowed to retain their permit and are still able to trim trees in Rollingwood! I am recommending to residents that this company NOT be considered for any work here because of the complete lack of regard for our precious trees. When poor work is done on trees, we all can be seriously affected.
