Proposed Changes to Current Noise Ordinance (in plain terms)

The following item was created by City Council at citizens’ request to explain the proposed change to the noise ordinance without legalize.
In Chapter 5 add:
Construction Nuisance
Prohibits construction activity before 7am and after 7pm weekdays, all day on the weekends and on Federal holidays. Fine is $500.
· Saturdays from 10am to 4pm construction is allowed as long as:
o Maximum of 3 workers present
o Maximum of 2 vehicles beyond what is normally there
o Doesn’t block street
o Doesn’t block access
o Adheres to noise ordinance
· Emergency work as approved by City Administrator.
