The following item was created by City Council at citizens’ request to explain the proposed change to the noise ordinance without legalize.

Remove Construction Nuisance from the current noise ordinance, reduce ticket from $2,000 to $500, all other parts of existing noise ordinance remain.

In Chapter 5 add:

Construction Nuisance

Prohibits construction activity before 7am and after 7pm weekdays, all day on the weekends and on Federal holidays.  Fine is $500.

 Exceptions:

 ·        Minor construction (defined as maintenance & repair, landscape, mowing, etc) with property owner present.

·        Saturdays from 10am to 4pm construction is allowed as long as:

o       Maximum of 3 workers present

o       Maximum of 2 vehicles beyond what is normally there

o       Doesn’t block street

o       Doesn’t block access

o       Adheres to noise ordinance

·        Emergency work as approved by City Administrator.
